I’ve just had a three week break from training. During that time I raced the King of The Bays Ocean Swim. It was one for the hardest swims I have ever done. For starters the swim was moved from the original swim start at Milford, delaying the start time by one hour, making us wait around in the pouring rain and the howling wind. The course was shortened from 2.8km to a 1.5km course off Takapuna Beach. Surprisingly the swim went really well as I was 8th woman out of the water and first non elite woman over the finish line. Also meaning I won the U19 age group.
Moving away from racing, I was able to enjoy a family holiday at Lake Rotoiti with some friends from Australia. We had an awesome holiday of hot pools, luging, water skiing and biscuiting. Kane (my friend from Australia) and I learnt to beach start on a single ski. I can proudly say I nailed it first time. We also managed to get both of us up on single skis behind one boat. Dangerous!! Kane nearly took my head off when he forgot to lift the rope high enough for me to pass under.
Overall everyone had such an awesome holiday and we would really love to go back next year. Thank you to Subway as we were able to enjoy a nice lunch on the trip down to Rotoiti.

Pain is temporary, it may last one minute, one hour or one day but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. However if I quit, it lasts forever!!
