Yahhh!! My level 1 NCEA exams are now over. They didn’t go too badly, some were a bit long and others I left early.
I am now into the surf life saving season with the first carnival being held at Muriwai last weekend. The surf was a nice clean two metres. I had a couple of good races and after the carnival I spent a couple of hours in the surf on my board. It was a nice change from our lake-like conditions at Mairangi Bay.
Yesterday I received a call to say I have been chosen to represent The Northern Region in a Trans-Tasman Surf League, early in the New Year. Three boys and three girls from Open Age Group, U19 and U17 have been chosen. We will be competing on the Central Coast in Australia!
I am heading down to Mount Maunganui to compete in a trial for the NZ Development Team on Saturday. A team is being selected to compete in an international series in February against seven other international teams. I’m looking forward to racing against New Zealand’s best surf life savers. I am following up the trial with the Tinman triathlon race on the Sunday which takes in a 750m swim in the harbour, a 20km bike along marine parade and a 5.5km run around the base of Mount Maunganui. I will be looking forward to a good feed of SUBWAY afterwards.
Please all support Surf Life Saving’s fundraising campaign “National Jandal Day” on 3rd December. Visit www.slsnz.org.nz/NationalJandalDay for more info!

Pain is temporary, it may last one minute, one hour or one day but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. However if I quit, it lasts forever!!
